FAQ -10 Plus Transition Process
Q1: How does the 10 Plus transition process work at CARE?
A: Our 10 Plus transition process is done carefully, taking into consideration children's birth dates (year, month, day), making adjustments as space becomes available and while adhering to our licensing conditions for the 10 Plus room. Sometimes, children in the main room will be move well after they have turn 10 (or sometimes before), depending on our wait list and the ages of incoming children.
For families on the CARE waitlist, please note that priority if given to sibling and those already enrolled with (in the main room) before we proceed to the waitlist.
Q2: Where will my child be placed while they wait to be moved to the 10 Plus room?
A: Your child will continue to participate in activities in the main room until a space becomes available in the 10 Plus room. Please understand that due to licensing conditions we cannot exceed the room capacity which is why the process may at times take longer than anticipate.
Not every child aged 10 and above can be moved right away, but we are committed to making this transition as soon as space becomes available. For families on the CARE waitlist, please note that priority if given to sibling and those already enrolled with (in the main room) before we proceed to the waitlist.
Q3: What age group does CARE cater to?
A: CARE is committed to offering art focused, childcare services to children aged 6 to 12.
To optimize our available space and better meet the childcare needs of our community, in September 2023, we decided to expand and create a separate area in our shared office space for the older children. This transition helps to provides a smooth pathway for those who are ready to embark on their independent journey beyond childcare.
Q4: Are the activities and trips the same for all children in our program?
A: Yes, absolutely! Regardless of their room placement, all children at CARE have access to the same well-thought-out and creative artistic components. Many of our activities and field trips are designed to be inclusive and suitable for all children, regardless of age. For instance, activities like swimming, skating, and various trips are intentionally selected to ensure that every child, whether they are 6, 10, or 12, can participate and enjoy themselves. These experiences promote a sense of togetherness among all the children of different age groups, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere at CARE.
At times, we come across opportunities that are better suited for older children, including activities like movies, participating in community service, engaging in workshops, or working on more intricate projects. These activities are specifically chosen to align with the developmental needs and interests of older children and will be incorporated to cater to their unique growth and preferences.
